Forums are back for now

Hi all,
seems hosting has upgraded to php7 and have moved away from mySQL to MariaDB.
I have spent the past two days trying to upgrade the forums to support these changes with no success.
Well that's not true I got it working on my hosting but not Valhallalost's hosting.
An email has been sent to the hosting asking for advice.
The forums being back is only temporary as I used a trick to convince the phpBB to use php5.6. This will be short lived as the hosting will disable the php5.6 at the end of the month.
Meanwhile I will continue to try to get the upgraded forum to work with the hostings DataBase and php7. Then all I have to do is re-skin the forums again.
Anyway I thought is was important to get this back up while I work to fix the problem.
